As the fatigue sets in and the ambition overtakes the ability, mistakes happen. The bonus to this meant on Day 5 we had quite a crew, Catherine and Chris joined us for the easy day, the ride across Skye, such a great day out with great company. The Highlands at its best! You just need to experience it. Day 7, what a way to finish the trip some amazing technical singletrack.

Thanks Euan and Chris what a way to finish what was already an amazing adventure. My adventure was also an adventure for three other people and without doubt they too were a key to a fantastic trip. I have focused on the key reason all of us go on these trips, that is the riding and destination! Like the choices of accommodation, restaurants, places to stop for snacks even the van you travel in.

It was all great and went without a hitch, shows great organisation and planning. See you in Spain! The guiding and service was incredible.

Chris Gibbs is a very professional and fun guide and really made this trip special. The riding was amazing, pushing your technical and mental comfort zones, but smiling and enjoying the views all the time.

Accommodations and food were comfortable and tasty to get a good feel for Scotland. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat, can't say enough good things about it to do it justice.

The landscape and riding is just incredible and so much more dramatic than anything in England or Wales. I really struggled to convince myself I was still on the same island! There is something for everyone too; techy climbs, hike-a-bike, flow trails, gnarly decents and more grippy rock than you can shake a stick at. Chris was a fantastic guide, rider and mechanic.

He knows these trails like the back of his hand and it really showed. If you like being in the backcountry with not a lot of people, this is definitely a "must". Bring some riding skills, some endurance and you will have pure fun!

Having Euan as a guide and also having Catherine, Chris and Steve joining on some tours was the cherry on top of everything!

Combined with great food sourced from local producers, a brilliant guide in Kevinglorious weather not one drop of rain in a week!

Some companies provide accommodation and route information to cyclists travelling independently; others focus on a group experience, including guides and support for a large number of riders cycling together.

A variation on this is holidays, often in exotic locations, organised in partnership with a charity, in which participants are expected to raise donation as well as cover their costs.

The scale of bicycle touring and its economic effects are difficult to estimate, given the activity's informal nature. Voyages[ edit ] Bicycle touring can be of any distance and time. There are many different types of bicycle touring: Lightweight touring Informally called credit-card touring, a rider carries a minimum of equipment and a lot of money. Food is bought at cafes, restaurants or markets. Ultralight touring Differs from credit card touring in that the rider is self-sufficient but carries only the bare essentials and no frills.

Fully loaded touring Also known as self-supported touring, cyclists carry everything they need, including foodcooking equipment, and a tent for camping.

Some cyclists minimize their load, carrying only basic supplies, food, and a Bivouac shelter or lightweight tent. Expedition touring Cyclists travel extensively, often through developing nations or remote areas. The bicycle is loaded with food, spares, tools, and camping equipment so that the traveller is largely self-supporting. Focusing on freedom of travel and efficiency over varied surfaces, cyclists often adopt an ultralight camping approach and carry their own minimal gear bikepacking.

Supported touring Cyclists are supported by a motor vehicle, which carries most equipment. This can be organized independently by groups of cyclists or commercial holiday companies.
